After a one-year hiatus, the Anglican Church Women’s annual Yard Sale returns Saturday, 5 October 2019 — and it will be worth the wait.
Collectible items include a partial set of Limoges porcelain produced in the latter half of the 19th Century and imported by Bawo & Dotter, a series of Norman Rockwell plates from the Bradford Exchange, in mint condition with certificates of authenticity, and some Susie Morton championship horse collectible plates, also in mint condition with certificates of authenticity. Vintage toys include trains, hand-carved wooden chess pieces, and more. Collectible books include some first editions, and even a mint condition regional cookbook autographed by writer and illustrator.
This year’s sale also features a large selection of silver plate and holloware, crystal and other china pieces and sets. We also have a Christmas and Holiday shop, fabrics and sewing/craft supplies, bed linens and table linens.
The furniture section includes a motorized lift chair sized for a petite woman, occasional tables, a loveseat and other chairs and small pieces.
In clothing, the sale features one rack of brand-new items — with the original tags still attached — from a Sigrid Olsen suit to peignoirs. Used clothing ranges from “like new” ladies skirt- and pantsuits, elegant evening wear and special occasion dresses to shelves of blue jeans and tables of “fill a bag” items in all sizes.
The ACW will continue to accept donations of small items until 22nd September, while large items such as furniture may be brought in the week preceding the sale. Every Saturday, volunteers gather in the Parish Hall to prepare for the sale.
